Retreat Description
The Holy Week Retreat will begin on Holy Thursday with the Service and Ministry Supper and ends after brunch on Easter Sunday.

Participants have an opportunity to enter deeply into the liturgical celebration of the Paschal Tridiuum, the three holy days of Easter Mystery of Jesus' death and resurrection. Free from any time or travel constraints, and in the quiet, beautiful setting of St. Benedict's, retreatants will be able to let the very powerful liturgies of this holiest week of the Church year come alive.

Holy Thursday
Beginning with registration any time in the afternoon, the retreat will include a Service and Ministry dinner celebrating the many ways in which each person proclaims the Good News in their lives. The Holy Thursday Mass of The Lord's Supper will end with a procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Chapel of Repose where there will be quiet adoration into the evening concluding with Compline (night prayer).

Good Friday
On Good Friday the day will begin with Tenebrae, the solemn morning prayer of the Tridiuum. There will be preaching of the Seven Last Words during the Three Hours on Good Friday. During the day there will be ample opportunity for Sacramental Reconciliation.  An outdoor celebration of The Way of the Cross will be held in the afternoon. The Solemn Liturgy of the Passion with adoration of the Cross will be in the evening.

Holy Saturday
On Holy Saturday the day will once again begin with Tenebrae. Various meditation opportunities will be presented to make good use of this day of silence.  In the afternoon there will be an explanation of the liturgies of the Easter Vigil.

Easter Vigil
There is no Mass on Holy Saturday. The Mass of the Lord's Resurrection is on Sunday Morning at 9:30 AM. As soon as it is dark the Easter Vigil service begins with the lighting of the "New Fire", candle-light procession into the chapel and solemn singing of the "Exultet" followed by readings from the Old Testament recounting our salvation history. This part of the Vigil will conclude with the sacrament of "The Anointing of the Sick" and end in silence as participants are given the opportunity to wait quietly for the resurrection of the Lord.

Easter Morning
The joy of Easter continues in the 9:30 AM Easter Mass, followed by a grand Easter Brunch celebrated with the whole St. Benedict Community.  The Retreat officially ends about mid-day, although people are welcome to remain through the early afternoon.
